Fujairah befindet sich als einziges Emirat des Landes nicht am Persischen Golf, sondern an der Ostk\u00fcste am Golf von Oman.<\/p>\n<p>Die Grenze zum Oman liegt nur etwa 11 Kilometer entfernt, ansonsten grenzt Fujairah an die Emirate Sharjah, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah sowie an die omanische Exklave Musandam.<\/p>\n<p>Die fr\u00fchere komplett rote Emirats-Flagge, wurde 1975 durch die Nationalflagge der Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate ersetzt.<\/p>\n<p>Die Hauptstadt des Emirats Fujairah ist die gleichnamige Stadt Fujairah, mit etwa 120.000 Einwohnern. Die Stadt besitzt einen Flughafen und einen bedeutenden Hafen f\u00fcr den Erd\u00f6lexport.<\/p>\n<p>Die gr\u00f6\u00dften Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten Fujairahs sind das Fort von Fujairah, n\u00f6rdlich der Stadt sowie Snoopy Island. Diese Fl\u00e4che rund um die kleine Insel, gilt als bestes Tauchgebiet der gesamten Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate.<\/p>\n<p>Ich besuchte das Emirat Fujairah in den letzten Jahren schon mehrere Male. Die bergige Landschaft ist teilweise sehr eindrucksvoll und im gesamten Emirat, herrscht viel weniger Trubel als in den Nachbar-Emiraten. Allein die rund 90-min\u00fctige Fahrt von Dubai, durch die endlose W\u00fcstenlandschaft, ist schon sehr spannend.<\/p>\n<p>Vor etwa zehn Jahren war ich in Fujairah Tauchen, das erste und einzige Mal in meinem bisherigen Leben, rundum Snoopy Island. Bei diesem insgesamt etwa zweist\u00fcndigen Tauchgang, hatte ich als Erstes, beim Aufsetzen der Maske, meine beiden teuren Ohrringe im Wasser verloren. Daraufhin verlor ich ziemlich schnell die Lust an diesem Sport und habe anschlie\u00dfend sogleich meine Tauchkarriere f\u00fcr beendet erkl\u00e4rt. Ich musste dann sp\u00e4ter generell feststellen, dass Tauchen absolut nicht mein Sport ist und ich in Zukunft lieber darauf verzichten werde.<\/p>\n<p>Allein schon wegen dieser unangenehmen Gegebenheit, werde ich Fujairah wohl immer in Erinnerung behalten.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"gdgallery-gallery-container\" id=\"gdgallery-container-204\" data-id=\"204\">\n    \n<div
