I was very excited about the small dwarf state in the Pyrenees between southern France and northern Spain. In the summer of 2015, we traveled from Barcelona to the capital Andorra la Vella in a super modern coach. The bus trip cost around 35 euros there and back and took around 3 hours.<\/p>\n

The drive there alone is super exciting because of the beautiful landscape and perfect for photos. The mountains of the Pyrenees will soon be more beautiful to look at than the Alps.<\/p>\n

Andorra la Vella is a very beautiful small town with only around 22,000 inhabitants and, at 1,000 meters, the highest capital in Europe, while around 80,000 people live in the entire country. The entire state and the capital are crossed by the 35 km long Valira River in a north-south direction and is a wonderful photo opportunity. The main official language is Catalan, where you really don't understand a word and makes communication with local people almost impossible. Luckily English was spoken at the reception of my hotel, unfortunately they were the only ones there. Hotels in the capital are not cheap, but they are equipped with some comforts to make your stay quite pleasant.<\/p>\n

The main attractions of Andorra include the Casa de la Vall, Barri Antic, the Iglesia de San Roma de los Bons, Esglesia de Sant Serni de Llorts, The Les Bons Historical Complex, Esglesia de Sant Miquel de La Mosquera, Placa Calonge, Casa Felipo , Sant Joan de Caselles, Santurio de Meritxell, the Sant Esteve Church, Santa Coloma Church, the Sant Christofol Church, Puente de Madrid, Casa Rossell, Plaza del Poble, the Tristaina Lake Trail, the Tobacco Museum, the National Automobile Museum and the Miniature Museum.<\/p>\n

Andorra is very popular with skiers, especially in winter, as they can use a ski area at over 1,000 m. You can also shop duty-free almost throughout the country and are therefore very popular with tourists as day bus tours from Spain or France. Tobacco products and alcohol are particularly cheap there. As in the surrounding countries, payment is made in euros.<\/p>\n

This small state is definitely worth a short or long trip and is very tourist-friendly.<\/p>\n\n
